My latest travel was last Saturday to Pattaya beach. Ok, so it wasnt the beach that we went…but other attraction places such as Marine museum (which is so cheap, but the place is worth on what u get for 20 Baht)…let me think, where else…mm…Romance of the Three Kingdoms (it’s a temple..or pagoda…quite nice…but since it was about noon, it was sooooo HOT..!!!!!!!!!), then we went to have lunch at the Royal Garden Plaza, had good pizza for lunch while overlooking the view of the blue-green water, the buildings and hotels at the seaside, and the small boats, yachts, and jetskis on the water…but we stayed inside where there is air-condition, coz outside is burning HOT..!!!!! Hey, there’s this Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum at the Royal Grand Palace also, I was so interested to go in, but we didnt have time… :( I very much like the make up of the girl selling the tickets…she was dressed as a nurse, but the make up…it was soo Halloween…black around the eyes….streams of blood around the mouth…it was so cool!! Too bad I didnt get the picture..
And so, after lunch, we went to a mountain where there was this huge Budha, painted right on the mountain (painted with gold). So I was told, that the mountain was made flat with a laser gun. Awesome! After that, we passed by this Budha temple, coz we decided not to go there, so we just passed it, and then.. we went a long way to the Sanctuary of Truth, but we also didnt go there, coz the entrance fee was sooo expensive..500Bht!! But I heard, that it is a beautiful wooden palace right on the beach (but we couldnt see it from the parking lot), and, when I looked at the picture of the palace later on in the internet, indeed, it was such a beauuutiful palace.. Regret that we didnt go inside…
Then we went to the Pattaya Park, but didnt go in either..hahaha….just looking around.. After that, it was our freetime, we can go wherever we went…so, we separated into 2 groups…one went to the beach, mall, or street shops….and a group of 10 or so, went to the Tiffany Cabaret Show, including me. I was curious about this ‘lady boys’ cabaret show, I’m sure I wont find it anywhere in Indonesia
The stage performance was great, the lightings, the stage decorations, the costumes…very professional…and the lady boys…very beautiful! Just like a real woman, pretty face, slim body….wow, how do they do that…I mean, really, if u hadnt known that it was a ‘lady boy’ cabaret show, u would think that they’re normal beautiful women….u cant see where the ‘man’ side of it has gone…except, when they talk…..man’s voice..! haha… Gotcha!! See how ‘women’ they are in the Photo Albums of Pattaya X….
Another side of Pattaya, typical Pattaya, is the bars along the road…soo many bars…and women (real ones) just standing and chatting with one another while waiting for ‘guests’, and there are some who were drinking with foreigners (mostly Caucasians) also… And, there were street shops right in front of the beach…along with hotels, malls, and also Hard Rock Pattaya Hotel and Cafe.. At night, these place is soo alive!! With tourists walking along…sightseeing, cars, motorcycles, and some tourist buses on the street, and what I like most, is the lights! It’s what makes it so alive..the lights were very bright and colorful… and on top of that unique Pattaya, there’s this typical Thailand phenomena…elephants! Yup, elephants…walking on the sidewalks..!! hahaha… they were baby elephants…so cute and funny..!!
Wow, first time to Pattaya, very nice indeed… But I wasnt satisfied, I didnt have the chance to look at the beach and walk along the Walking Street and go to the Hard Rock Cafe..
So, I really want to go there again someday and stay 1 night or two, rent a motorcycle (so cheap, only 150Bht/24 hours) and go around the city…
Have a look at some of my experience in Pattaya in the Photo Album. Pattaya X, and Pattaya and ME! Enjoy..!!
