Dickheads in the streets

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006

Melihat gaya sepupuku yg nyetir gaya ‘brutal’ and ‘vulgar’ (penuh caci maki) and gaya semau gue berteman akrab dengan yg namanya klakson, aku teringat diriku beberapa tahun silam…. ^_^ Didahuluin, diterombol, apalagi dipepetin…gak terima! Udah deh, pencet tuh klakson keras2 sambil semua hewan di kebun binatang keluar semua (MONYET! BADAK! dll..dll) wakakakaka…. Masih inget diriku dipepet bus umum, ampe’ bener2 mo nabrak dia…langsung deh tancap gas kukejar tuh bus kurang ajar, ku buka jendela and kucaci maki si kernet ama si sopir…wakakakkaa….maksud Loh!! :D

Tp sekarang udah beda…udah insap kali yaa.. ;) mo didahuluin, diterombol….monggo monggo mawon mas/mbak. Silahken mendahului. Aku hanya bisa bersabar menunggu…. Tancapan gas sekarang jg nggk dalem2 amat (kecuali klo lg mood kenceng), nyantai2 ajah… And I feel relax driving this way ^_^

Tp sebel jugak, terutama nyetir di jakarta, tatkala macet and harus antre, tiba2 ada yg melaju dengan gaya kencang dan sok pede nya ke depan….jangan dikasih jalan woi, people!! Now that’s what I call a Dickhead! (that’s what me and my brother refer to) :P Di jogja sama ajah, makin banyak kendaraan mobil and motor! Makin banyak Dickheads pula laah…!!!

Untung aku bukan termasuk loh…wktu zaman masih brutal dulu juga enggak, klo yg namanya antre yach antre aja…kita punya tata aturan gitu loh!! Hihihi… ^_^

Lagian aku berani berbuat and membela klo emang benar (cieehh..). Kayak sewaktu ditabrak bus dari belakang!! #%#%&(#&#!! Dasar para bus maunya kejar setoran, alhasil kebut2an and rebutan penumpang dehh!! Aku dah merasa benar, klo lampu merah harus brenti dunks!! Brentinya jg nggk mendadak! Dasar bus kegatelan penumpang itu ajah yg maunya nerobos lampu merah! Alhasil pintu belakang peyok, bemper pecah, and cat rusak!! Wktu itu sendirian pula! Huh!

Lgsung deh aku keluar and menghampiri bus itu. Cuman ada sopir ama kernet, ga da penumpang. Trus aku minta pertanggung jawaban (koyo opo wae.. ^_^), aku minta mereka ikut ke dealer, tp sblmnya mereka mo gantiin bemper dg ‘bemper palsu’ yg lebih murah..harganya 30 ribu! Gila aja! No way! Mana laku ntar klo dijual! Yg asli aja harganya 300 ribu bo!!

Akhirnya aku sandera salah satu kernet buat ikut mobilku (kalo2 lari gitu loh) ke dealer. Trus diitung2, total kerusakan abisnya 1 jutaan. Aku segera menelpon bala bantuan –> ibuku..hahaha. Ternyata eh ternyata….lebih galak bo!!! Sampe2 kayak nggk ngenalin ibuku sendiri… wekekek. Yang awalnya para awak bus cuman mau nanggung dikit, akhirnya setelah kena semprot ibuku jd mau nanggung semua. Hahahaha… Yey Mommy!! :D

Klo diinget2, cukup nekadz jg….wekekek…maksudku, untung aku nggk diapa2in ama si kernet…thank God! ;)

Pesan pertama: Setelah ditelusuri, aku ngerti kenapa aku kena ’sial’ hari itu, karena di pagi hari nya aku berani ngelawan ibuku, berargumen dikit, jengkel, and akhirnya aku pergi tanpa pamitan. Mgkn itu yg dinamakan karma berani ma orang tua :P sejak itu aku selalu (berusaha) nurut, and jangan pergi tanpa pamit, apalagi dlm keadaan marah!

Pesan kedua: There are many Dickheads out there in the streets! Just beware, and be patient. Dont let your emotions get to you, just think that you’re more educated than they are… If somehow possible however the situation, give them a ‘little’ lesson ^_^

As of this moment, after giving lots of vigorous thoughts, I have made my decision..
If this is what I have to do to achieve my dream(s), then I’ll do it..

So help me God…

Master Graduation

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

UntitledI’ve been meaning to write about my graduation, but unfortunately I’ve been busy since..especially packing, shopping, going home, and of course partying..akakaka ;) I’ve had so many parties, from farewell parties with the staff, party in Koh Samed island with the juniors and the minister, dinner party with my advisor, Permitha farewell party and others :D

Anyway, I’ve had the happiest moments of my life during my graduation, starting from its preparations, rehearsals (long ones), grad day, and grad nite. And not to mention my brother, sister and mot her who came all the way to Bangkok for this special occasion :) What makes my graduation more interesting and beyond the usual is that it was presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, King Bhumibol’s favorite daughter. She was an AIT alumnus also. And that’s why our preparations and rehearsals took so long…everything had to be perfect.

The royal family is the Thai’s number one people, very highly respected. Their pictures are everywhere….on buses, calendars, billboards, buildings, every corner of Thailand. We even have to stand up before seeing a movie in the cinema, when the King’s song was played. And we have to ‘freeze’ the time whenever we hear it in public places. Once, I was confused why everyone stopped what they were doing at once (it was like in the movies when time freezes). Anyway, I got used to liking the King as well…he seems to have this wise charisma of a true King :)

Ok, on grad day, there were full securities in the building. We even had to go through a metal detector before going in. No cameras, no cell phones, no earrings, no necklesses, no nothing, well, except clothes :P We had to sit nicely and wait for the royal song to be played, that’s the cue of when the princess enters the auditorium. And then everyone had to stand up and bow (men) and curtsy (women), and wait till the princess is seated, then we can all sit. And the ceremony began.

When our names are called, we have to curtsy (me) and walk to the middle in front of the princess, curtsy again, approach the princess, get the degree from her (with a special hand gesture I’m not quite sure how to describe it), walk 3 steps backwards, curtsy again, then walk off the stage. Quite confusing, huh! When everyone was finished being called, the princess gave a short speech. Her English is quite good (compare to most Thais), and then the royal song was played again, we stood, and the princess left. Later on, we watched the princess depart from campus. The royal vehicles are amazing, they’re ‘ancient’ cars and has the color of ivory. Too bad pictures weren’t allowed :( Everyone watched at a distance and waved as the princess left…

On the nite of the graduation was grad nite. There was a wonderful Chinese dinner style. Do you know what a Chinese dinner style is? Well, my Chinese friend told me that we were served exactly 8 dishes, served one by one after we finish with one dish. They’re not gonna serve us another one if we dont finish the previous :P and all of them were side dishes (no rice). Rice was served at the end, fried rice. Sweets were served the last of all. They were all yummy!!! :D Too bad it rained hard at the beginning, but the good food paid it all :)

After dinner was the ‘real’ party :) there was a huge stage, with a band, dj and all that. At first it was really boring coz they were playing jazz and sumthin like that. But when it got really ‘nite time’ the music started to change and we danced to rap, hip hop, and house music till morning :D Had so much fun dancing with my friends…but some were drunk so I had to keep a ‘distance’…xixixi… It was really tiring, dance till you drop :P like doing heavy sports, I was so sweating I swear I lost 1 kg after that…wekekek… When it was over, I rode my bike back home..half asleep :D

Good graduation, good music, good food, good dancing, great guys (hehe), good life…. :) Thanks to God for giving me wonderful moments, and to top it all, I had a surprising grade for my thesis that I almost cried for continuous joy and happiness ;)
